A Short Sequence of Stretches, Poses, and Breathwork to Alleviate Aches and Pains

Artists and painters often do quite a bit of labor intensive work to complete their projects, so it is important to care for your physical well-being. You can ease some of the aches and pains that come from creating on-site.

You may be wondering:

  • What kind of stretches are best for artist and painters?
  • Am I able to do this on site during a project?
  • Does this take a lot of time?

Here's what we'll cover.

By the end of this course, students will be able to do a short flow sequence to help you physically and mentally prepare for your days of painting. You’ll learn a quick sequence of stretches, poses, and breathwork to help alleviate aches and pains. The sequence is designed to be short and effective, and be able to be done before, during, or after the work day. All the steps are fully explained and demonstrated.

Katie Gaines has created beautiful painted murals and decorative finishes, and produced custom artwork for clients all over Southern California, throughout the U.S., and internationally. She is also a certified Yogi, RYT-200. She has created this flow sequence based on her experience at work creating murals and decorative works on walls, ceilings and floors.

This course is for you if:

  • You want to learn an easy and effective sequence of stretches and poses to alleviate aches and pains while painting or creating at on-location projects.
  • You don’t have any experience with yoga stretches, but you’re excited to learn a wellness process to add to your everyday studio work.
  • You’re looking for a fun and transformative physical outlet.

Hi, I’m Your Instructor, Katie Gaines

Artists and painters often do quite a bit of labor intensive work to complete their projects, so it is important to care for your physical well being. Artist and Yoga Instructor Katie Gaines shares a short flow sequence to help you physically and mentally prepare for your days of painting.

The process of creating and expressing herself through art was a passion for Katie Gaines throughout childhood and high school. After graduating from the University of California, San Diego, with a B.A. in Visual Arts, she started her graphic design career in the finance market. During this time, many requested her help designing wedding invitations or painting murals in their homes. Soon, these “side projects” became a steady, full time schedule and in 2000, she left the corporate world to start her own company specializing in custom invitations, murals, and decorative painting. Love Paper Paint has created beautiful invitations, designed logos/branding, painted murals and decorative finishes, and produced custom artwork for clients all over Southern California, throughout the U.S., and even as far away as Australia, Italy, and Taiwan. Her work is featured in magazines, designer showcases, and online publications.
